I think that DBAs in general all have a tendency to perform their jobs creatively, finding ways to automate the mundane, or solve a problem with an unconventional use of technology. For awhile now I've been thinking that it would be a good idea to present some of the things I've come up with in my every day role as a production/development DBA. However, in general much of what I've thrown together hasn't been suitable for public consumption. Here, I hope to polish up some of these ideas and give them a new life — hopefully they will provide a spark of interest or even provide something useful to someone else in their own work. I'll also be humbly awaiting constructive criticism from the community at large.
